High-Tech Commercialization Programs as Strategic Marketing for Multinational Corporations

posted Nov 12, 2010 11:51 AM by Paul Zukowski
Together with our team at GCG and our partners at Lockheed Martin I had the privilege to be able to help design and sell a strategic marketing and economic development program for India.   Our group (GCG) has then implemented the Lockheed Martin India Innovation Growth Program (www.indiainnovates.in), a nation-wide technology commercialization program, aimed at helping India’s early-stage innovators bring their new technologies to market in India and around the world.  It begun in 2007 and continuing through 2012, the Program has benefited more than 1,000 Indian scientists, engineers, inventors and entrepreneurs across virtually every technology sector.  The Program provides participants with a combination of education and coaching, along with professional international commercialization assistance that has helped participating innovators generate more than $52 million in sales. The Program is funded by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company and the Government of India’s Department of Science & Technology.

The Government of India has recently commissioned a third-party evaluation of the impact of this program on the Indian economy. The results are amazing and you can read the report in attachment.  Lockheed has taken some risks in supporting this project both strategically and financially - I think it has paid off and is a tribute to this company's creative and unique thinking as compared to most players in the defence sector.
